There are new features available for the StarLine-2 smartphone app. users on the Android and iOS platforms.
In most cases, the new features will be added to the app. automatically, however, some users may need to download the update manually i.e. reinstall the app.
This feature will be particularly useful to first-time users of the StarLine-2 smartphone app., but even if you’ve been using the app. for a while, you may want to take a quick tour in case you might have missed some of the available options within the app.
To launch the assistant, click on the ‘Profile’ icon (home screen, top right corner), scroll down to ‘Help’, and follow interactive on-screen instructions.
Connection Status
As per users’ request, StarLine engineers have added real-time connection status indication pop-up to the home screen of the StarLine-2 app.
This lets the user know if the system has gone offline i.e. the StarLine system installed to your vehicle has lost connection to your smartphone for some reason.
If the system is offline, the app. will attempt to establish WHY the connection’s been lost. Most common reasons include no GSM coverage in certain areas (such as underground car parks), and low SIM balance.
Individual Notifications
The latest update includes an option to turn on or off ‘Communication Channel Control’ notifications from within the app. (the feature was previously available only via https://starline.online).
When enabled, you will receive a notification to your phone when GSM connection between your vehicle and the StarLine server is lost / restored.
Go to ‘Settings’ (cog icon, bottom right corner on the home screen of the app.) > scroll down to ‘Communication Channel Control’.
Map and Tracks Settings
Another feature now available from within the app. You can now adjust tracking parameters and specify how you’d like them displayed on your map, including speed limits and stopping / parking indicator settings.
Click on the map at the bottom of the Home screen. When the map is enlarged, select the Settings icon at the top right corner. This will take you to the Maps and Tracks Settings screen.
Also, don’t forget that in the previous update the option to select between miles and kilometers was introduced. If you have not made use of it yet, click here.
